Sydney Sweeney Jokes About Alleged Affair With Glen Powell On ‘SNL’

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney turned dating rumors about her and Glen Powell into a humorous gag during her Saturday Night Live hosting debut.

Sweeney and Powell recently starred in the rom-com Anyone but You, a modern take on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. During filming, Sweeney and Powell’s on-set chemistry stirred up rumors about the two having an affair. Powell was with his girlfriend Gigi Paris at the time while Sweeney is engaged to Jonathan Davino. (Powell and Paris later broke up).

On SNL, Sweeney addressed the alleged affair as the “craziest rumor” and affirmed her relationship with Davino.

“I just want to let everyone know that [Davino’s] the man of my dreams, and we’re still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me. Can we cut to him?”

The camera cut to Powell rather than Sweeney’s fiancé to the audience’s cheers. Later in the episode, Powell appeared in a sketch with Sweeney and Andrew Dismukes. Sweeney and Dismukes played a couple trying to enjoy dinner while interrupted by rowdy restaurant patrons. At the end of the sketch, Sweeney’s character confessed she was having an affair with her boss, played by Powell himself.

Last year, Sweeney and Powell added more fuel to the dating rumors after Sweeney commented on Powell’s shirtless photoshoot for Men’s Health. Despite the rumors, Sweeney has shown off her relationship with Davino, flashing her engagement ring at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023.
