Susan Sarandon’s Daughter, Eva Amurri, Defends Choice Of Revealing Wedding Dress Amid Criticism

Actress and lifestyle blogger Eva Amurri, daughter of Susan Sarandon, has responded to critics of her wedding dress, defending her choice of a strapless gown with a plunging neckline.

Amurri, 39, married chef Ian Hock on June 29 in New York’s Hudson Valley. The intimate ceremony, attended by about 40 guests, including Sarandon and her former partner Tim Robbins, took place at Windrift Hall despite rainy weather.

Following the nuptials, Amurri shared photos on Instagram showcasing her Kim Kassas-designed dress, which featured a corset-style bodice. Some followers expressed disapproval of the revealing nature of the gown, prompting Amurri to address the criticism directly.

“To anyone scandalized by my breasts not being ‘put away,'” Amurri wrote on her Instagram Story, accompanying a close-up image of her dress’s neckline. She invited critics to “screenshot this for later,” indicating her unapologetic stance on her fashion choice.

In an interview with Us Weekly prior to the wedding, Amurri had expressed her desire for a “sexier” dress that reflected her current self-image. “It’s just what I had in my mind. It perfectly reflects who I am today as a woman,” she told the magazine.

The couple, who got engaged in Paris in February 2023 after two years of dating, opted for a French garden party-inspired celebration. Amurri emphasized the importance of including her children from a previous marriage in the festivities.

“We really wanted to center our little family unit in all of it, and make it as much about the kids as it was about us,” Amurri explained to People magazine. The couple worked with their officiant to create a personalized ceremony that reflected their relationship.

Despite initial concerns about the weather, Amurri later shared that the rain “ended up being perfect” for their special day. She described the event as filled with “so much love and the most incredible energy.”

The wedding’s focus on family and food highlights the couple’s priorities. “All we really needed was the beautiful atmosphere, our nearest and dearest, and a delicious party,” Amurri said, underscoring their emphasis on intimacy and culinary enjoyment.

In 2017, Amurri revealed that a nurse had dropped her son, causing his skull to crack.
