SURVIVOR: HEROES V. HEALERS V. HUSTLERS FINALE RECAP

Ben has sneaked his way past elimination for the past couple of weeks, and the 2-hour finale episode began with the remaining castaways – Chrissy, Devon, Ryan, and Mike – determined to get rid of Ben once and for all. While they were plotting against him, Ben was finding a last hidden immunity idol.

Chrissy won the first challenge of the night, her third solo win this season. They contestants had to swim to a floating platform, race up some crates, and jump back into the water, before walking across a balance beams, grabbing some keys, and solving a puzzle. As the winner, Chrissy invited Mike and Devon to join her at her winning feast.

Back at the beach, Mike attempts to convince Ben that the others had found the last immunity idol, unaware that Ben already had it in his possession. At the first hour’s tribal council, Ben pretends to be sad about leaving before the vote but then thrust the idol in the rest of their faces after all the votes landed on him. The others were then forced to choose between Mike and Devon for who to send home, and they ended up picking Mike to leave.

With just four remaining, the contestants entered the immunity challenge. Chrissy bested the others (her fourth solo win, tying her for most immunity wins by a woman in a single season) and with her win, was awarded a secret advantage in the tribal council – she would choose one player to sit next to her, and the others would have to compete in a fire-making challenge for the last spot in the final three. Their plan was again squandered when Ben defeated Devon in the challenge, making the final three players Chrissy, Ryan, and Ben.

This time, it was up to the eight members of the jury (made up of those who had already been voted off) to vote for a winner. Ben received four votes to Chrissy’s 2 and Ryan’s 1, making Ben the winner of season 35 and the new owner of $1 million.
