'Survivor: Blood Vs. Water' Recap: Candice Is Sent Home And Aras Betrays Laura Morett, Sending Her To Redemption Island

Candice lost the Redemption Island duel and was sent home and Laura Morett was betrayed by Aras at Tribal Council in Survivor: Blood vs. Water.

After last week’s dramatic Tribal Council, Caleb apologizes to Vytas and Hayden for flipping the script and pushing to eliminate Brad. The boys are weary, but Caleb proves himself valuable at the immunity challenge later on. But first, it's time for the Redemption Island duel between Candice, her husband John and Brad Culpeper.

This week's challenges begin with the Redemption Island duel, in which Candice, her husband John and Brad competed for their lives. They had to take apart a wooden crate, make a bridge and then take apart said bridge and solve a puzzle. Candice started off ahead of the boys, but they both squeaked by her in the end and Candice was eliminated from the game.

Winning the clue to the idol in the duel, John tries to stick it with Brad's wife, Monica to make her a target (similar to last week), but, once again, Monica put it in the fire upon Brad’s loud request. At the immunity challenge, Monica took a seat as she and the two Lauras were chosen not to participate.

Tadhana won their first challenge, which was made up of a sort of extreme ring toss. After the challenge, Laura Boneham tries to get her tribe to turn on Monica and Laura M., but no one is buying what she’s selling and they all seem pretty set on voting her off to Redemption Island. And that’s when Aras makes his move that eventually gets Laura M. voted off.

Everyone at Galaang was ready to vote out Laura B., until when, at the last minute, Aras began thinking strategically: if his end goal is getting Brad Culpepper kicked off Redemption Island and out of the game, he will need to put someone strong and valuable there to beat him – that means voting out a good player. Plus, with Brad gone, his wife, Monica will need her alliance with Aras more than ever. Laura M. was completely blindsided, and, should she return from Redemption Island, it will be interesting to see how she retaliates against Aras' power play.

Survivor: Blood vs. Water airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
