Supernatural star Mark Sheppard has had another brush with death after his sixth severe heart attack. The actor had to be resuscitated four times after he collapsed in his kitchen.

Famous for his portrayal of the demon/King of Hell on Supernatural, Sheppard, 59, expressed gratitude to his wife, Sarah Louise Fudge, for saving his life, as well as the medical staff who cared for him.

In an Instagram post, Mark shared a selfie from his hospital bed, which showed multiple heart monitor devices attached to his chest. He still managed a slight smile.

His caption read, “You’re not going to believe this!”

He continued, “Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen. Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead 4 times, I apparently had a 100% blockage in my LAD.”

He admitted that his recovery was not expected.

“My chances of survival were virtually nil,” he said.

On the near-death experience, Sheppard concluded, “I feel great. Humbled once more. Home tomorrow!”

Many fans and fellow celebrities have been quick to send their well-wishes for his speedy recovery.

Felicia Day wrote: “Omg Mark I am so glad you’re recovering this is awful! Sending all my love to you and the family ❤️.”

John Barrowman also commented, “Mark, WTF…if there is anything you need or I can do just let me know. I am just a small journey away. Please do all they tell you to make yourself heal and get well. You are a lovely soul and a lovely man. I am sending you lots of love…’

The left anterior descending artery (LAD) is the largest coronary artery and is responsible for the transport of nearly 50% of the blood to the heart.

Sheppard also mentioned that he suffered from a “widowmaker,” which is a colloquial term for a heart attack that is caused by a complete blockage in the heart’s largest artery.

Sheppard has also appeared in shows like Leverage, White Collar and Doom Patrol.
