Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, 14, deactivated her personal Twitter account on June 13 after being excused of being homophobic with ensuing memes to follow. Additionally, the “#TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown” trend likely sent the star away from Twitter.
It all began in November 2017 when a Twitter account by the name “Kelsey Fiona” accused the actress of ripping off her hijab at an airport, which most everyone didn’t believe since the individual wasn’t even wearing one in her profile picture. However, this moment began the hashtag and the conspiring to bully the star.
More recently, countless memes have been made to depict Brown as a homophobe, as seen below:
There’s plenty of online users who have enjoyed the content.
Nonetheless, there are many who find the memes and commentary to be inappropriate.
Brown’s anti-bullying account (@Milliestopshate) is still active on Twitter. She’s also known as a supporter of GLAAD’s Together movement, an LGBT campaign.
On meeting Brown, actor Aaron Paul said it was like, “A wise woman was speaking from her cherubic face. It was like speaking to a future mentor with a perspective and groundedness that I could only have dreamed of at that age. Or at any age, if I’m being honest.”
