Steve Harvey Got The “Worst Answer Ever” On ‘Family Feud’
Steve Harvey, host of the popular game show Family Feud, got the worst answer he’d ever heard during a recent taping of the show.
The category, “another name for the word ‘mother,’ deemed too difficult for contestant, Shelia Patterson. Her family teammates had already answered “mommy” and “nana.”
“Nana,” Sheila replied, saying the word with a different pronunciation.
“Didn’t you say nana?” Harvey asked the relative standing next to Shelia, while trying to decipher the answer. “Was you trying to say it in Spanish or something?” Harvey asked.
A confused Harvey then asked her again, “What’s another way people say mother?” and Patterson repeated her answer.
The audience roared with laughter while Harvey shook his head in utter confusion.
After another few minutes of confusing, Shelia said, “What about mommy?” Adding extra stress on the second syllable. Harvey, not sure what to say, looked over at the audience and said, “This s—t can’t be happening.”
The contestant did take some time and explain to Good Morning America what she was thinking during the answering round:
“What had happened was, I had a moment there and I really think my nerves got the best of me. It just really got the best of me,” Sheila said. “There were a couple of questions, answers that I had already prepared, but those answers were already given, so basically, my nerves just got the best of me trying to come up with something else.”
