Late Show host Stephen Colbert‘s opening monologue ridiculed President Donald Trump‘s Twitter rant about the New York Times with one single photo.
The newspaper recently published an article about the Michael Cohen investigation and how he may turn on Trump while on trial. The article was written by Maggie Haberman, who becomes the target in Trump’s angry tweets about the article.
“The article seems to have gotten under Trump’s extremely loose skin,” Colbert began as he started to read off Trump’s Twitter rant.
Colbert points out that Trump is lying about not having anything to do with Haberman by sharing a picture of the two of them together in the Oval Office. “Someone call secret service, because here she is with Trump,” he jokes.
“The accurate reporting is coming from inside the White House,” Colbert continued. “Get out of there! Get out of there!
