Teaming up with Facebook, Lucasfilms debuted a 360-degree video experience of Jakku. The interactive clip allows users to shift the view of the desert with the click of a mouse on a computer. On mobile devices, users shift the actual device to get the same effect.

“Speed across the Jakku desert from Star Wars: The Force Awakens with this immersive 360 experience created exclusively for Facebook,” the video is captioned on Facebook.

In the video, the viewers feel as though they are riding on a speeder. Among the many things passed on the trip through Jakku are Tuscan Raiders and the massive Star Destroyer.

“In the future, imagine watching 360 videos of a friend’s vacation to a small village in France or a festival in Brazil – you’ll be able to look around and experience it as if you were there,” Facebook said in a statement about the technology that made the above video possible.

“Along with updates from your friends and family, you will also be able to discover amazing new content on Facebook from media companies, organizations, and individual creators.”

The Jakku video is also available on YouTube, though it does not have the same 360-degree capabilities.
