Spider-Man: No Way Home is rumored to be re-releasing with an extended cut in cinemas March 11.
According to Reddit user Slight-Key3232, the film is “currently penciled in for release in the second week of March in Indonesia.”
Reddit user JohannSchmidt1943 replied to this post and wrote, “We have spoken to the source and believe that this may be true. An extended edition is slated for a March 11th release.”
Considering that No Way Home recently beat Avatar as the third highest grossing film in the domestic box office and has grossed over $1.8 billion worldwide, it would make sense for Marvel to rerelease the movie to continue to reach $2 billion worldwide.
This would not be Marvel’s first time rereleasing one of their movies – Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home did so previously. Endgame‘s rerelease featured a posts-credits scene and a tribute to Stan Lee, while Far From Home‘s was an extended cut.
No Way Home‘s digital and Blu-ray release will contain over 80 minutes of bonus content featuring Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men which will probably be some of the content shown in the rumored theatrical rerelease.
The extended cut showing in cinemas would also explain the reason for the delay of the digital release date which was changed from February 28 to March 22.
No Way Home will also stream on Starz later this year.
