Sons of Anarchy’s sixth season is right around the corner, and FX is building the excitement surrounding the series by releasing its second teaser trailer. Like the last one, it suggests some dark times ahead.

In the promo, it looks like Jax (Charlie Hunnam) could ultimately make the decision to abandon his wife Tara (Maggie Siff), his mother Gemma (Katey Sagal) and Clay (Ron Perlman) in favor of the club. As he rides down the street with his club in the teaser, he passes by a brick building with a mural featuring Gemma, Tara and Clay's faces. The mural explodes as he passes it by.

Kurt Sutter, the Sons of Anarchy creator, suggested that Jax would face tough decisions ahead regarding his life as a career criminal and responsibilities to his family. "Can I really do what I do and follow this path and still show up and be a caring and loving husband, a good and loving father?" Sutter said at the TCA Press Tour, referring to Jax’s dilemma. "Can I have all that and still be, you know, the leader of, ultimately, a criminal enterprise?"

"Having framed Clay for the murder of Damon Pope, Season Six begins with Jax's leadership uncontested, but his family life suffering from his single-minded pursuit of John Teller's vision," FX said of the sixth season of Sons of Anarchy. "Jax must find a way to keep Tara from going to prison for conspiracy to commit murder while rebuilding his club and breaking from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friend's death."

Sons of Anarchy’s sixth season premiere will air on FX Sept. 10 at 10/9c.
