Son Of Hollywood Agent Arrested For Murder Of Wife Whose Torso Was Found In A Trash Bag & In-Laws
Samuel Haskell IV, son of Hollywood agent and film producer Samuel Haskell III, has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman’s torso was found in a trash bag.
The Los Angeles Police Department arrested Haskell after someone rummaged through a dumpster at an Encino strip mall and found the body. Detectives traced the garbage bag to Haskell’s home in Tarzana, California, which he shared with his wife, three kids and in-laws.
Police were originally called to the scene after someone saw what appeared to be body parts in trash bags outside Haskell’s home. By the time police arrived, however, the bags were gone.
“There was no evidence that allowed the officers to make entry into the home,” LAPD Detective Efren Gutierrez told The New York Times.
According to officials, investigators found blood and other signs of murder inside the home.
Haskell’s wife, Mei Li Haskell, and her parents, Gaoshan Li and Yanxiang Wang have been missing since last week.
“They would normally be home in these hours, and attempts have been made to contact them by cellphone and no answer,” Gutierrez said about Haskell’s in-laws. “And the same with Mei. She is unaccounted for.”
Haskell’s three children are currently in the custody of other family members, the LAPD explained in a press release.
Haskell is currently being held on a $2 million bail.
