Snapchat Apologizes For Ad Making Light Of Rihanna-Chris Brown Assault Incident

Snapchat has issued an apology for an inappropriate Rihanna and Chris Brown ad that asked users if they would rather “slap Rihanna” or “punch Chris Brown.”

The game that was advertised is called Would You Rather. The ad was taking a distasteful jab at an incident in 2009 where Brown physically assaulted Rihanna after Clive Davis’ Grammy party. The ad has since been removed from Snapchat.

Snapchat issued a statement to BBC apologizing for the ad getting out to the public. “The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware,” the company stated. “We are sorry that this happened.”

Many that saw the ad took to Twitter to voice their disproval, including Bill and Hilary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea Clinton.
