Slash honored his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, following her death on July 19 at just 25 years old.

The Guns ‘N Roses guitarist said Knight died “peacefully” on Sunday in Los Angeles, though he did not specify a cause of death.

He said she was an “incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.” Slash recognized Knight as the “beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson.”

He went on to ask for “privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”

On the morning of July 21, Slash posted that his S.E.R.P.E.N.T Festival tour, which began on July 5, would have to cancel four performances due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Knight seemed to have scheduled a post on Instagram that showed up after her untimely passing.

A selfie of the 25-year-old was accompanied by the caption, “Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity – I am sorry. Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace.”

Knight’s mother, Hodges, commented on the image, saying “MY BABY GIRL! I LOVE YOU WITH EVERYTHING. I’M SO SORRY.”

According to Instagram, the post’s content had been edited since Knight scheduled it.
