More human remains have been found at Lake Mead, this time by a diver in Callville Bay who spotted a bone. This discovery is the sixth incident of bones and corpses being found in the lake, which stretches between Nevada and Arizona.
These latest bones were first spotted by a diver on October 17, and then a team of divers from the National Parks Service found a full skeletal set of bones the next day.
Drought temperatures have caused water levels to decrease rapidly in the area. The sinking waters of Lake Mead also revealed the debris of a ship from World War II-era this year.
Park authorities don’t suspect foul play in this latest discovery, but the first set of remains that were discovered this past May was reportedly from a homicide victim. The rest of the causes of death for the other remains are thought to just be accidental drownings.
The most recent discovery of remains before this one was back in August.
Like melting ice caps and increasing temperatures, the lowering levels of Lake Mead are another sign that Climate Change is worsening and needs significant intervention now.
