DaniLeigh, 28, was arrested and charged with a DUI in Miami Beach, Florida on Tuesday. The incident was an alleged hit-and-run on a man riding a moped that occurred around 2 a.m.

According to the police report, witnesses claimed the singer was speeding in a Mercedes-Benz when she hit the man’s moped and did not stop. They said they attempted to let DaniLeigh know about the moped caught underneath her car, which she had dragged behind her for about a block, but she kept driving.

A police officer got DaniLeigh to pull over, and when he approached the car, he smelled alcohol. DaniLeigh had “sluggish” motor skills, and the passenger in her car seemed to be “highly intoxicated.” The pair were placed into police custody despite DaniLeigh claiming that “she never hit a motorist” and had not “consumed any alcoholic beverages.” Police found an empty tequila bottle in the car.

She failed various different sobriety tests and had a breath alcohol level of 0.145. According to Florida’s Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the legal limit in Florida is 0.08.

The victim in the hit-and-run suffered two injuries, including a spinal fracture and a kidney laceration. Reports indicate that they are both non-life-threatening.
