Irish singer Sinead O’Connor died in London on Wednesday morning. Detectives are reportedly not treating her sudden death as suspicious.

Police were called to a house in the SE24 region of London at 11:18 a.m. The area sits between Brixton and Dulwich and is the residence of notable actors like Olivia Colman and James Nesbitt.

O’Connor had just moved back to London at the beginning of the month, posting about her excitement to see the ballet and teasing a possible tour next year.

According to the police, the 56-year-old singer was found unconscious and pronounced dead at her home. A post-mortem examination will confirm the cause of O’Connor’s death.

Though officials do not believe her death to be suspicious, questions have been raised concerning O’Connor’s fortune. Some fans believe that the singer may have left behind nearly £4 million, but others claim that she depleted her savings throughout the past couple of years.

O’Connor is survived by her three remaining children, Jake, 34, Roisin, 25, and Yeshua, 15. Her youngest son, Shane, took his own life in January 2022 after escaping the hospital while on suicide watch.

A file is being prepared for the coroner and is expected to contain more information about O’Connor’s sudden passing.
