Sharon Stone’s 11-month old nephew River passed away Monday, Aug. 30, from total organ failure. He was a week away from his birthday, dying before turning one.

Stone shared a tribute video to Instagram in honor of her nephew and godson. Eric Clapton’s song “Tears in Heaven” played in the background of the tribute. She captioned the video “River William Stone Sept. 8, 2020 – Aug 30, 2021. The news comes only a week after Stone posted a heartbreaking photo of River hooked up to multiple wires and wearing a neck brace while laying on a hospital bed. “My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib with total organ failure today. Please pray for him. We need a miracle,” was the written caption for the post.

River’s mother, Tasha Stone, shared her heartbreak over Facebook with friends and family on Monday, posting the same video tribute as her sister-in-law. She wrote, “My days will never be the same and I have no idea how I am supposed to live my life without the sweetest boy in the universe. I am crushed.”

The Basic Instinct actress was recently spotted in Venice, Italy for a Dolce & Gabbana photoshoot as her family was back in the States with River. She had shared videos of her trip on Instagram. There has been no update if she will be cutting her trip short to return home.

Thousands of Stone’s fans have shared their condolences over social media. Her celebrity friends also have commented their condolences under the tribute.

“Ugh. I’m sitting in tears. I’m so sorry, Sharon. What a beautiful boy. Sending all my love to you and your family,” wrote Will and Grace star Sean Hayes.

Actress Selma Blair also commented, writing, “I am so sorry. My lord.”

Stone has remained active on Instagram, sharing quotes with her followers.
