Shaquille O’Neal Served In Lawsuit Against FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried

NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal has finally been served in the billion-dollar class-action lawsuit against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and other celebrity spokespeople, a law firm for the plaintiffs confirmed on Sunday.

The Moskowitz Law Firm took to Twitter to update plaintiffs and avid followers of the case that after months of attempting to reach O’Neal, the basketball legend was finally served outside his Atlanta home. “Plaintiffs in the billion $ FTX class action case just served @SHAQ outside his house,” read the tweet. “His home video cameras recorded our service and we made it very clear that he is not to destroy or erase any of these security tapes, because they must be preserved for our lawsuit.”

The announcement comes just days after a Florida judge denied a motion to serve O’Neal electronically. Adam M. Moskowitz, co-counsel on the FTX lawsuits, confirmed the news in a statement, saying that he “wanted you to know the good news that we just served personally Shaquille O’Neal outside his house in Atlanta. The good news is his home video cameras recorded our service and we have made it very clear, he is not to destroy and/or erase any of these security tapes, because they must be preserved for our lawsuit.”

The lawyers have been under tremendous stress since the law firm was given a deadline until Monday to serve O’Neal, whom Moskowitz claims to have “been hiding and driving away from our process servers for the past 3 months.”

O’Neal is just one of the celebrity defendants involved in the lawsuit for promoting a “fraudulent scheme,” and he was the final remaining defendant to be served. Other celebrities involved include businessman Kevin O’Leary, former NFL star quarterback Tom Brady and basketball star Steph Curry.
