Sean Penn And Scarlett Johansson Break Up

Unlikely Hollywood couple Sean Penn, 50, and Scarlett Johansson, 26, have reportedly split up. After months of being seen together in chic Los Angeles hot spots, and finally making a public appearance as each other’s dates for the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington D.C. in April, the two have called it quits.

BAFTA Award-winning Johansson, and two time Academy Award-winning Penn have met on occasion due to their similar social and political causes. Both openly endorsed Democratic candidates in the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections, and have become figures endorsing various causes including LGBT Civil Rights and Bono’s anti-poverty campaign, ONE.

Johansson is currently in New Mexico filming The Avengers, where she will reprise her role as Black Widow from the Iron Man franchise. Penn can currently be seen in theaters in The Tree of Life, which won the coveted Palme D’or at the Cannes Film Festival, and will soon be seen playing a retired rock star, opposite Frances McDormand, in This Must Be The Place, which also premiered at Cannes.
