Eric Weinberg, a screenwriter and producer in Los Angeles, was arrested by police for multiple charges of sexual assault committed between 2012 and 2019 against multiple women.
LAPD confirmed that he was arrested at his home in Los Feliz Thursday “for several sexual assaults including rape.” His bail is reportedly set at $3.2 million.
Weinberg allegedly targeted women in “grocery stores, coffee shops, and other public places,” and lured them to his house by pretending to be a photographer. Weinberg then sexually assaulted these victims during photo shoots.
A search of Los Angeles County police records indicated that Weinberg has not been released. It has yet to be determined when he will appear in court next. Investigators also suspect that he committed more assaults in the 90s, but those did not account for any of his current charges.
Weinberg is a veteran TV writer who has been active in the industry since 1996. He was a co-executive producer of the hit comedy-drama Scrubs and more recently executive produced the short-lived sitcom Graves on Epix.
Any unidentified victims of Weinberg or others who have knowledge of his crimes are encouraged to contact LA Detectives at (323) 561-3272.
