Ivana Trump, first and former wife of Donald Trump, died from blunt impact injuries to her torso, New York City medical examiner’s office said on Friday.
Police looked into whether she fell down the stairs in her Upper East Side apartment near Central Park, Manhattan. She was 73.
The report did not say when the accident took place.
Her son Eric Trump said it was “a very sad day, a very sad day,” as he left the home Thursday.
Ivana was married to Trump from 1977 to 1993 and share three children together: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric.
Her untimely death came just as two of her children and ex-husband were due for questioning in the New York attorney general’s civil investigation looking at the family’s business practices. The questioning was postponed because of Ivana’s death.
