Scott Eastwood Opens Up About Tragic Death Of Former Girlfriend

Scott Eastwood opened up in a recent interview about the tragic death of a former girlfriend that continues to make it difficult for him to date.

Eastwood landed the cover of GQ Australia‘s September/October issue, for which he revealed that the last time he cried was when his girlfriend died in 2014.

“I dated a girl a couple of years ago who died in a car accident,” Eastwood told GQ. “I’ve lost friends before; I’ve lost some great friends. But, I had never lost someone I had been really intimate with, you know, like in that way, in a relationship.”

Eastwood went on to explain the cause of his girlfriend’s death, calling it “f–ked up.” According to the Suicide Squad actor, “It was a fender bender, and there was a recall on airbags. Her airbag exploded. It shot a projectile through her body. It split her spine.”

“I think that really affected me in a way that… I don’t know. Maybe it’s made it harder for me to date,” Eastwood revealed, adding that he has never discussed the tragedy with the woman’s father. “I still haven’t found the right words.”

Though Eastwood didn’t name his former girlfriend in his interview, she has since been identified as aspiring model Jewel Brangman, who was 26 when she died in the accident.
