Scarlett Johansson impersonated Sen. Katie Britt (R-Alabama) on Saturday Night Live‘s cold open segment.

The segment poked fun at Britt’s odd response to President Joe Biden‘s State of the Union address. Britt’s speech sparked backlash for telling the story of a human trafficking victim whom Britt suggested took place under Biden’s watch – the incident, in fact, occurred under the George W. Bush administration.

In the mock State of the Union address, many notable figures were parodied, including Mikey Day as President Biden, Heidi Gardner as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Georgia), Punkie Johnson as Vice President Kamala Harris and Ego Nwodim as CNN’s Abby Phillips.

“Folks, tonight I’m going to cover a lot. There’s going to be a lot of applause. So, Kamala, I hope you didn’t skip leg day, girl. You’re going to be up and down all night,” Day, as Biden, said.

After Day’s segment, Johansson jumped in as Britt and spoke from a kitchen, just as Britt had done in her response.

“My name is Katie Britt and I have the honor of serving the great people of Alabama. But tonight I’ll be auditioning the part of scary mom performing an original monologue called ‘This Country is Hell.'”

Johansson’s segment also included references to Britt’s response, such as the sex trafficking story.

“And like any mom, I’m going to do a pivot out of nowhere into a shockingly violent story about sex trafficking,” Johansson said. “And rest assured every detail about it is real, except the year, where it took place and who was president when it happened.”
