Scarlett Johansson has filed for divorce from her husband of two years Romain Dauriac.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON FILES FOR DIVORCE FROM ROMAIN DAURIAC

The couple separated earlier this year and have made the next steps in ending their marriage. Johansson’s attorney Judith Poller served the papers to Dauriac’s attorney Hal Mayerson. The actress is reportedly asking for primary and residential custody of the couple’s 3-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy Dauriac.

Mayerson called the thought “laughable,” and says Dauriac will fight the request. “He plans to petition the court to allow him and his daughter to move to France,” he said. “He believes that her schedule makes it impossible for her to have physical custody — unless she intends to have her children raised by nannies and helpers.”

For her part, Johansson released a statement explaining that she will not speak about her failed marriage, for the sake of her child. “As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage,” she explained. “Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same. Thank you.”

The pair wed in a secret ceremony in October 2014 after dating publicly for two years. Prior to this relationship, Johansson was married to fellow actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008-2010.
