Samuel L. Jackson Wished San Bernardino Shooter Was White
Samuel L. Jackson said he “really wanted” the shooter in the San Bernardino attack to be white because he didn’t want Muslim-Americans to endure anymore racism in a new interview.
“I can’t even tell you how much I really wanted [the San Bernardino shooting] to just be another, you know, crazy white dude, and not really some Muslims because it’s like, ‘Oh, s—. It’s here,’ ” Jackson told The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hateful Eight star said he sympathizes with Muslims because they are the new young black men.” Jackson fears the shooting has cultivated even more hatred toward Muslims.
Jackson’s statement comes only four weeks after the shooting on Dec. 2 that left 14 people dead and 22 injured. President Obama deemed it an act of terror which later caused Republican candidate Donald Trump, to propose a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States.
When Jackson was asked his view on Trump, Jackson explained that “there’s absolutely nothing I can do, there are some other people that aren’t as open about what he’s saying that are running also, you know, that are just as crazy, that have just as much ill will toward the common man — and not just the common black man.”
Jackson also said that he will be voting for Hilary Clinton in the upcoming election.
