Samsung presented the Galaxy S4 smartphone on Thursday night in New York City. The release event, called “UNPACKED 2013,” was held at Radio City Music Hall, and gave those in attendance a closer look at the latest all-world smartphone.

The S4, which has a five-inch screen, comes in two colors: black mist and white frost. It includes impressive features such as Samsung Smart Pause, which automatically pauses a video you are watching on your phone if you simply turn your head away from the screen. It also has a camera system that enables you to include audio in your photos, take dual photos and a feature called Cinema Photo that combines photo and video.

“We have brought the interface from the Galaxy Camera to the phone,” director of product planning Drew Blackard told ABC News of the 13-megapixel camera. "We have wanted to make it easier for people to know how the modes work with images."

The Galaxy S4, which is Samsung’s latest play in its heated competition with Apple, will be carried by AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. It is schedule to be released in the sping, however Samsung has not yet announced how much it will cost. —Hal Sundt
