In multiple pictures posted to Instagram on Tuesday, Sam Taylor-Johnson showed off her cut husband, Aaron Taylor-Johnson while they vacationed.

In the photos, Sam, 57, and Aaron, 34, posed on a cliff overlooking the ocean, smiling at the camera – Aaron is shirtless with washboard abs, and Sam holds him close, both arms around him.

The couple has been married for 12 years. They were wed in 2012 after they met on the set of Sam’s 2009 film Nowhere Boy, which starred Aaron. The two share daughters Wylda, 14, and Romy, 12.

Aaron also shared photos of the vacation to Instagram and flaunted the couple’s active lifestyle together, as Sam did a cartwheel in one picture and Aaron jumped high off the ground in another. Aaron captioned his post, “little get away.”

A subject of much conversation across the internet, earlier this year, Sam commented on the nature of her and Aaron’s relationship with a 23-year age gap.

She told The Guardian, “[Our age] comes up on the outside perspective of people who don’t know us, because I guess people will always…we’re a bit of an anomaly, but it’s that thing. After 14 years, you just think, surely by now it doesn’t really matter?”

Sam brought up on her marriage to Jay Jopling, an art dealer three years older than her, as an example of age-appropriate relationships not necessarily being the right fit.

Aaron also spoke about the age difference topic when he was interviewed by Esquire in 2023. He simply stated, “I’ve got really nothing to hide, and I’m secure in what we have.”

Aaron recently received a lot of attention over the rumor that he will be taking over Daniel Craig’s famous role of James Bond. Also very much invested in her career, Sam’s biopic on Amy Winehouse, entitled Back to Black, was released in early May, 2024.

In 2009, Sam revealed to uInterview exclusively why she cast Aaron as John Lennon in Nowhere Boy and then fell in love.

“I saw a lot of people and no one really came to the audition with that ability to carry such a role and I knew that Aaron had been on the set of Kick-Ass so when he arrived I didn’t really hold out high expectations,” she said. “I thought you know, he hasn’t had time to research this and I don’t know what he’s gonna bring to this, but he came in the room as Lennon and that was pretty impressive for a first casting.”
