Sam Maccarone and Jessica Burzichelli met when they were both 10-year-olds in the fifth grade, and have been in love ever since. FIFTH GRADE LOVERS: Sam Maccarone & Jessica Burzichelli
The couple are both in their twenties now, and are living in Hoboken, N.J. Last year, with the help of his musician cousin Matty Mac and his filmmaker friend Domenick Cucinotta, Maccarone created a music video proposal for his wife-to-be to have a unique way of capturing the special moment.
Mac even wrote a new song for the music video, which Burzichelli was featured in. “Since i [sic] didnt have any songs that would apply to marriage i wrote this song specifically for this occasion so that he could propose. Without his love for her and the desire to do something great for the proposal, i would have never written that song,” wrote Mac on his YouTube page.
“I wanted to try and traverse the different stages of a relationship from start to finish,” Mac told BuzzFeed News. In the music video, the couple is seen happily walking around Philadelphia, as Mac plays the song he wrote. At the end of the video, the lovebirds enter Nico Gervasi’s Italian Restaurant, where Mac is playing the romantic song.
“Tell me you love me to our final days cause I’ve been hoping that you’ll marry me someday,” sings Mac. When the song finished, Maccarone got down on one knee and proposed.
