Actress Sally Field played matchmaker for her gay son, Sam Griesman, and Olympic figure skating bronze medallist Adam Rippon on Twitter this past weekend.

Griesman hasn’t been shy about his crush on Rippon. When the Winter Olympics began, he tweeted out, “So boys, where’re we watching @Adaripp tonight?”

When The Daily Beast writer Ira Madison III replied to him joking that Griesman was “thirsty,” Griesman responded, “Never pretended not to be.”

Later, Griesman tweeted his support for Rappon, saying, “Nothing but respect for my Olympic prince.”

“I hate being earnest but an openly, ‘non-passing,’ sassy, beautiful gay 20-something daring America not to love him and becoming the sweetheart of the Olympic Games is very moving to me,” Griesman tweeted later the same day.

After receiving over 2,000 likes on the tweet, Griesman confirmed his posts were about Rippon by tweeting, “Glad so many people liked this, but if you could slide it into Adam’s DMs that would be great too.”

Field officially came in after Griesman tweeted a screenshot of a text message his mother sent him about his “Olympic crush” that read, “Sam… he’s insanely pretty. Find a way..”

Field called Griesman out on Twitter by quote-tweeting him and only tagging Rippon — and putting a period before his Twitter handle so all of her followers could see it.

Griesman replied simply saying, “yikes.” Rippon has yet to respond.

Field is a fan of Rippon’s actions both on and off the ice. After he spoke out about not having anything to say to Vice President Mike Pence — who has made statements against gay marriage — Field tweeted her support.

“You’re amazing @Adaripp,” Field wrote. “Your Olympics won’t be about Mike Pence. They will be about your excellence and your grace. And all the young boys and girls you’re inspiring.”
