Ryan Dorsey Drops Domestic Battery Charges Against Ex Naya Rivera

Ryan Dorsey is officially dropping the domestic battery charges he brought against his estranged wife Naya Rivera.

CHARGES DROPPED AGAINST NAYA RIVERA

Rivera, 31, was arrested last November and charged with domestic battery against her husband, but Dorsey dropped the charges on Jan. 12. “Mr. Dorsey has notified both the prosecution and the defense counsel that he was no longer seeking prosecution and has confirmed he was never at any time injured by the conduct of Ms. Rivera,” a spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight.

In November, a spokesperson for the Kanawha County, West Virginia, Sheriff’s Office shared with ET that an officer was dispatched for a domestic violence call. When he arrived, he spoke with Dorsey, 34, who said that Rivera had hit him in the head and face. The pair were arguing over their two-year-old son Josey.

Last month, Rivera refiled for divorce from Dorsey after dismissing a previous divorce filing in October 2017. The couple has been married since July 2014, but hit a rough patch in 2016, after which Rivera filed for divorce for the first time. According to court documents, the couple has reached a temporary custody agreement, giving them both 50/50 joint custody of Josey. They must consult one another regarding all major decisions about their son’s health, education, and welfare, and will equally divide all holidays.

Rivera made her first public appearance since her arrest at YouTube’s 2018 Television Critics Association press tour. She was at the event to promote her new show, a Step Up revival series called High Water, which will air on YouTube Red on Jan. 31 and will run for 10 episodes.
