Ryan Anderson, Gia Allemand's Boyfriend, Breaks Silence About Her Death

Gia Allemand’s boyfriend Ryan Anderson is speaking out following Allemand’s sudden death, an apparent suicide.

“I’m deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed. All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared,” Anderson said in a statement.

Anderson, a player for the New Orleans Pelicans, had been dating the Bachelor star and reportedly discovered her unconscious in her home Monday night. Anderson called 9-1-1 and Allemand was rushed to the University Hospital in New Orleans where she was put on life support. During Allemand’s time in the ICU, Anderson reportedly never left her side.

Before Allemand’s death, Anderson tweeted a prayer to his followers, but he has not tweeted since.

Allemand was taken off life support on Wednesday after she no longer showed signs of brain activity or organ function.

“[Allemand] passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side. As a practicing Christian Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites. Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming in another official statement once available. On behalf of the family, we sincerely ask for privacy at this time,” Allemand’s rep said in a statement yesterday.

Allemand became famous after competing for Jake Pavelka’s heart in Season 13 of The Bachelor. She went on to compete in season one of Bachelor Pad.
