You won't catch Russell Brand stewing in any road rage this holiday season.

The 35-year-old actor and comedian has a trick to becoming a better driver. He meditates while behind the wheel. He recently began taking driving lessons in Los Angeles, which he says are going "good," according to People. "I'm using meditation to make me a better driver. I'm flowing down the freeways." He hopes that the right level of calm will help him earn his license.

Brand and his newlywed wife, singing sensation Katy Perry, are also big fans of meditation off the road. "I think meditation is good for everybody," Brand said. It helps him get through life's little annoyances. "Like sometimes when the cat is cleaning the litter, he kicks quite a lot of litter onto the floor. Why?" he asked.

The funnyman takes this matter seriously. He and Perry recently attended the David Lynch Foundation's "Change Begins Within" Benefit at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The foundation helps war veterans and their families deal with post-traumatic stress disorder through meditation.

Brand can currently be seen on the big screen with Helen Mirren in the newest adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest. —KIMBERLY STEELE
