Rory Feek Gives Heartbreaking Update On Wife Joey’s Battle

In his latest post, titled ‘four rings and a baby’, Feek describes the gut-wrenching moment when the two explained to their three children that they would be losing their mother forever.

“And she held their hands in hers and talked with them,” Feek writes. “She told them how much she loved them, and how proud she is of them. And how proud she is to be their mother. And then she talked with them about the one thing that she didn’t think she would ever have to talk with them about: Leaving them.”

The coupled had been married 12 years when Joey, 40, was given her initial diagnosis. Together they raised Feek’s two daughter’s from a previous relationship and only a year ago welcomed another addition to the family, daughter Indiana.

Feek shared that doctors had advised them there was nothing more they could do for Joey’s condition in a post titled ‘enough’ on Oct. 23, following a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Feek signs of by thanking family, friends and fans for their continued support through the incredibly difficult time.

“I have heard that here in Joey’s hometown, people are going to line the streets of downtown Alexandria with candles on Thursday night for Joey’s prayer,” he writes, “And back home in Nashville and in other places all across the country and world, many are gathering to pray. Some in person, and most online. But all together… to lift up the mother of our three beautiful daughters.”
