Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts married longtime partner Amber Laign on Friday. Roberts shared the news on social media.

“An intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyous reception…. ohhhh the dancing!!!” wrote Roberts. “We are immensely grateful to all for making it a day and a night to remember. Honeymoon here we come!”

The ceremony occurred at the couple’s home, with Roberts’ childhood pastor officiating. Roberts wore a custom Mark Badgley and James Mischka dress, and the newlyweds held an “enchanted garden-themed reception” for their guests.

Roberts announced her engagement to Laign on Good Morning America in January, opening up about her future wife’s health struggles.

“I’m hesitating because I haven’t said it out loud yet,” Roberts shared. “We’re getting married this year. It’s something we have talked about, but we had put it off. She became ill, and it is saying yes to that and that next chapter.”

Laign was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2021. Roberts, a breast cancer survivor herself, stepped away from her morning talk show in 2022 to support her partner while she was receiving treatment.

“She and I have been together almost 17 years and have helped each other through our challenges, like my journey with cancer,” she announced. “It’s my turn now to be there for her as she was with me.”
