Robert Pattinson has been hitting the gym to get his body ready to star in his new action feature Mission: Blacklist.
In Mission: Blacklist, the normally slim actor plays a military interrogator that leads the mission to take out Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. In order to convincingly take on military man Eric Maddox, Pattinson has committed himself to bulking up his frame.
Since getting the part, the normally workout-adverse Pattinson has been hitting the gym regularly with his trainer Harley Pasternak. "I don't have a six-pack and I hate going to the gym," he revealed to Sunday Style. "I've been like that my whole life. I never want to take my shirt off. I'd prefer to get drunk."
Pasternak says the British actor has put his feelings about picking up the weights aside for the time being. "He tries to come whenever he is able to come in, so sometimes five days a week," Pasternak told Us Weekly. "He has really got it going on all cylinders. He's eating properly, he's exercising . . . he's not a fitness fanatic. He's not someone who normally loves working out, but he's just sort of in a rhythm now."
Pattinson recently wrapped filming Maps to the Stars and The Rover. In addition to Mission: Blacklist, he has two other projects in pre-production – Queen of the Desert and Hold on to Me.
