Robert Pattinson, best known for his role as Edward in the Twilight series, has won a new role as Batman in a new film version that is set to hit screens in June 2021.The news definitely shook the internet with fans expressing their mixed feelings about his casting.

Pattinson reportedly competed against Nicholas Holt for the role.

Fans immediately began to express their emotions via Twitter when they heard the news.

One person tweeted, “Is the best they could find really Robert Pattinson?”

Another fan tweeted, “Robert Pattinson is officially the new Batman,” following a gif of a care bear getting hit by a truck.

Though there were many negative comments about Pattinson’s new role, others thought he was a great choice for the part.

One person tweeted, “Robert Pattinson will be Batman. Like y’all aren’t aware that vampires take flight in bat form. Losers.”

Another fan said, jokingly, “I’ve defended Robert Pattinson so much since they announced he was in the running for Batman, I’m gonna need his reps to contact me so i can receive my payment.”
