Robert De Niro, 80, shared a smile with his social media followers as he posed with his new daughter, 10-month-old Gia. The legendary actor parented baby Gia with his partner, film producer and martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen. The two tend to keep a low-profile relationship and went public in 2021.

De Niro said he sees “a lot of similarity” between his younger self and his new daughter. Reminiscing on an old picture of him and his father, he told People, “It reminds me of my two youngest little girls… I see it also in one of my grandkids.”

The father of seven could not contain his joy about being a dad again. “The fact that they’d all be together is everything to me,” he said.

De Niro’s six other children are: Drena, 56, and Raphael, 47, whom he had with his first wife Diahnne Abbott (Drina is adopted from Diahannes’ previous marriage); twins Julian and Aaron, 28 with Toukie Smith; and Elliot, 25, and Helen, with his ex-wife Grace Hightower, are becoming adjusted to a new life as older siblings.

The Taxi Driver star has been hit with criticism from fans about having children in the later stage of life. However, it doesn’t seem to phase the actor one bit. “The grandkids even – she’s their aunt – [and] they’re about to be teenagers!” he said.

In November, De Niro was ordered to pay a former employee $1.2 million in a gender discrimination lawsuit.

De Niro’s most recent movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, is currently streaming on Apple TV+.
