Rob Marciano Will Join Nancy O'Dell As 'Entertainment Tonight' Co-Host
People who love entertainment news can now look forward to getting it from a new, informed source who’s pretty easy on the eyes, to boot — namely, current CNN news and weather reporter, Ron Marciano, who made a name for himself covering the BP oil spill and Hurricane Katrina, for which he won a Peabody Award, and will now join current Entertainment Tonight host Nancy O’Dell.
Marciano, who also hosted primetime specials such as Rescue: Saving the Gulf, will replace current Entertainment Tonight anchor Mark Steines, who has been hosting the show since 2004. “I am honored to be joining the distinguished and talented team at Entertainment Tonight, all of whom are the gold standard in entertainment journalism,” Marciano said in a statement. “For over 30 years, ET has been a powerhouse in the entertainment industry and to be part of that blue chip franchise is a dream come true,” he said.
And the producers are looking forward to the addition of Marciano, too. “We are so pleased to welcome Rob to the ET family,” said co-executive producer of Entertainment Tonight Linda Bell Blue. “Rob brings with him a passion for news, a wealth of knowledge about the entertainment industry and an enormous amount of charisma that viewers have been responding to for years,” she said. “We know he will be an outstanding fit for our show, our audience and the immensely talented Nancy O’Dell.”
Marciano will reportedly begin co-hosting with O’Dell in January 2013.
