Rob Lowe has launched a new skincare line for men, Profile, which will be available online in the next few weeks, just in time for Father’s Day.

Rob Lowe Cosmetics Line

Lowe, 51, has had a long standing reputation as a Hollywood heartthrob, and the seemingly ageless actor is gearing up to release his own line of skincare products for men who want to look like Rob Lowe. “Over the course of my career, I have learned all the tricks of the trade for maintaining clean, healthy and younger-looking skin. I have taken that knowledge to another level in creating Profile. Now, men everywhere can have the same benefits helping them look and feel their best,” Lowe is quoted as saying on the official Profile website.

Lowe has actually been working on the Profile cosmetics line for six years, but kept his involvement quiet. When he officially launched the company in early May, Lowe said he started the cosmetics company himself and has been in charge every step of the way.

“I built it from the ground up. I designed this myself, from nothing. I met with labs and finance people. A lot of the time was getting the right team on the field, and then it was developing the chemistry and the components with some of the experts that I was in business with,” Lowe told GQ.

Lowe also admitted his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, a former makeup artist, was crucial to the development of the company, and he joked that he calls his son, who is studying at Stanford, for help designing the website, Profile4Men.com. Lowe also said he wasn’t always into skincare, but, with maintaining a youthful appearance a necessity for an actor, he was “forced to do it.”

The site promises more natural, eco-friendly ingredients and does not test on animals. For now, the collection is relatively small, featuring a cleanser, shave gel, “age combating post shave serum,” an eye serum and an “anti-gravity” moisturizer, ranging in price from about $25 to $60.

“Most of the line has the age-combating elements, which at my age are really important to have, particularly because guys don’t realize, but you start losing it at 20. So I just use this as I would hope that our first customers would use it,” Lowe told GQ, saying he’s been using his own Profile skin regimen for the past four years.

All products are listed as “Coming Soon” on the official Profile website, but Lowe announced on Twitter that they should become available “in the next few weeks.”

In addition to launching his cosmetics line, Lowe also recently announced he is returning to television. The Parks & Recreation star will headline The Grinder, a new comedy to premiere in the fall on FOX.
