Rep. Lauren Boebert’s Husband, Jayson, Charged With Assaulting Their Son

Jayson Boebert, the estranged husband of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado), was arrested for allegedly assaulting their son, Tyler Boebert.

A January 9 police report stated that Jayson started fighting with his son after he got home from a bar at about 1:00 a.m. He noticed that his infant grandson was asleep in a laundry basket filled with clothes.

Tyler told police that his dad, who spoke with a slurred speech, began hitting his legs and attempted to seize his phone.  

After he got a hold of the phone, Jayson reportedly tossed it. He then shoved his son while putting his thumb in his mouth.

According to the police report, Tyler believed that his father was going to pull out one of his teeth.

The report also claimed that Jayson then pushed a woman, the manager of a New Castle bar, who drove him home and tried to break the fight up.

Garfield County Sheriff Deputy Ashley Ramirez stated that she replied to Tyler’s 911 call just after 1:00 a.m. on January 9. He told a dispatcher what his father had just done to him.

Once Jayson heard Tyler calling 911, Jayson grabbed a rifle. Tyler stated that there were several firearms in the house, and he could not determine what kind of rifle his father was currently wielding.

Tyler said that he thought his father was under the influence of alcohol.

An arrest affidavit confirmed that Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jayson due to suspicion of illegal weapon use, harassment and third-degree assault.

Court documents relating to Jayson’s arrest tied the charges to incidents following an argument he had with Lauren on January 6 and the fight with Tyler. The argument with his wife happened in a bar in the Garfield County town of Silt, near the Boeberts’ residence. 

Jayson was released from the county jail on January 9.

His bail had been set at $1,500 for his assault charge and $1,000 for his criminal mischief charge, which are both misdemeanors.

In another police report, a Silt police officer stated that Jayson refused to leave The Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt after a man called the police at about 8:00 p.m. on January 6 to report domestic violence abuse.

A woman made the second 911 call in which a man can be heard saying that another woman punched him in the face.

Officers found Lauren on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant.

She told police that she started arguing with her ex-husband as they started to talk about their new partners. She also said that she placed her finger on his nose to put their argument to rest, and then Jayson called 911 to place a domestic violence report.

“Congratulations, your name is going to be in the headline,” Jayson allegedly said. 

According to this report, Jayson shouted at the officers and refused to speak to them, despite him claiming that he was punched in the face at his house and restaurant.

Officers asked him to leave the restaurant eight times before they escorted him out while he proceeded to yell and swear. 

Silt police cleared Lauren of her husband’s allegations after Jayson recanted them.

“I don’t want nothing to happen. Her and I were working through a difficult conversation,” Jayson told The Denver Post.

“This is a sad situation for all and another reason I’m moving,” Lauren said in a statement.

The controversial congresswoman has been the subject of numerous scandals since being elected to Congress.

During an interview on Steve Bannon‘s War Room podcast last week, Lauren blamed Ryan Reynolds and Barbra Streisand for her decision to move from Colorado’s third Congressional District to the fourth Congressional District.
