Celine Dion announced Wednesday that she’s decided to put her scheduled performances on hold in light of her husband Rene Angelil's most recent cancer battle.

Dion’s decision to cancel her Asia tour and postpone her Las Vegas residency was revealed on her official website.
"Celine Dion has decided to postpone all of her show business activities indefinitely, in order to focus 100% of her attention on her husband Rene, their family, and associated health issues," a statement on Dion's site says.
"Since Rene's surgery last December to remove a cancerous tumor, it's been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children."
Dion, 46, confirmed the news herself to People magazine. "I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," Dion said. "I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."
In addition to looking after her husband’s recovery, Dion also has to focus on allowing her own throat to heal. The power vocalist has been unable to perform her show at Caesars Palace since late July due to inflammation in her throat muscles.
Angelil was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999, five years after wedding Dion. After the cancer returned, Angelil made the decision to step down as Dion’s manager earlier this year. He does, however, remain chairman on the board of Dion’s Feeling Productions.
