Reeva Steenkamp Tweets About Valentine's Day Hours Before Her Death Allegedly At Hands Of Boyfriend Oscar Pistorius
Reeva Steenkamp, the South African model who was allegedly killed by boyfriend “Blade Runner” Oscar Pistorius on Thursday, tweeted enthusiastically about love on Wednesday.
Pistorius, the first double-amputee sprinter to perform in the Olympic games, allegedly shot Steenkamp four times on the morning of Valentine’s Day. Just the day before, Steenkamp had taken to her Twitter to say, “What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow??? #getexcited #ValentinesDay.”
“That sounds amazing!” Steenkamp replied to one Twitter follower with a Valentine’s Day plan. “Wow that’s what it’s all about! It should be a day of love for everyone 🙂 may it be blessed!”
Steenkamp, in addition to being a cover girl and getting featured in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World issue for two years running, was also a law school graduate and a fierce advocate for women. “She was the sweetest human being and an absolute angel on earth. She was the kindest, most unbelievable girl,” modeling agent Sarit Tomlinson told Sky News.
While there have been reports that Pistorius shot Steenkamp after mistaking her for an intruder, police spokesman Denise Beukes revealed that there had been previous issues of a “domestic nature” in the home. Pistorius’ hearing is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15.
