Rebel Wilson Lied About Real Age: Age Confirmed As 35, Not 29
Rebel Wilson has been lying about her real age and is actually 35-years-old, records confirm.
Rebel Wilson Lied About Real Age
Australian tabloid Women’s Day published a story earlier this week in which a woman who alleged to be former classmates with Wilson claimed that the Pitch Perfect actress was 36-years-old, not named Rebel and did not have the hardscrabble beginnings she likes to talk about on talk shows.
“She’s 36 – she was born in 1979 and we left school in 1997,” the old classmate source told Women’s Day. “No one knew of a Rebel Wilson. Her name is – or was – Melanie Elizabeth Bownds,” the source said, adding that she had a “very normal, upper middle class upbringing.”
In response to the story that blew up over the Internet, Wilson took to Twitter with a couple of jokes about the article, saying she was a 100-year-old mermaid whose name is either CC Chalice or Fat Patricia.
Though Wilson appeared to be mocking the tabloid, records confirm that she was born March 2, 1980, and is 35, not the 29 she claims. The business records that prove Wilson’s age were filed with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
As for Wilson’s name, the Australian Electoral Roll lists her real name as Melanie Elizabeth Bownds. Records also show that she did not live in the “ghetto,” but that she grew up in Castle Hill and went to the upper-crust Tara Anglican School.
Wilson has not yet responded to the latest report.
