Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested in the Dominican Republic for assaulting two music producers after trying to flee the country on a private jet back to the U.S.

The attack was allegedly related to 6ix9ine’s girlfriend, Yailin La Mas Viral.

Born Daniel Hernandez, 6ix9ine was walked down a flight of stairs of the jet by authorities and was taken to a police pickup truck.

His arrest was confirmed by a Dominican lawyer, Felix Portes, who claimed Hernandez was trying to leave the country.

Hernandez has been in legal trouble for the past year, as he failed to show up in court for traffic violations in Florida. He was also jumped and beaten inside of a Florida L.A. Fitness gym.

Hernandez has a significant criminal history. He was sentenced to four years probation in October 2018 after he pleaded guilty to one felony count.

He also avoided serious prison time by pleading guilty to nine charges including conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery. He also testified against members of the Nine Trey Gangster Bloods. He faced more than 40 years of prison with these charges.
