TDott Woo, a 22-year-old rapper known in the Brooklyn drill scene, who just had signed a recording contract that same day, was shot in the head and killed outside of a family member’s Canarsie home on February 1.

The rapper’s death was confirmed by his family and the label Million Dollar Music, who stated that they had “finalized negotiations and signed a rising star” in Woo, only for him to be “brutally murdered” while visiting his family 2:30 p.m.

According to police, Woo, whose birth name was Tahjay Dobson, was called outside and then shot in the head by an unidentified suspect who fled the scene in a dark SUV. Dobson was transported to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

“He was a good, good kid,” Dobson’s grandmother told the New York Daily News. “He loved singing and dancing and all that. He had a passion for music.” Dobson’s first claim to fame was actually a dance and not a song, the “Woo Walk” which became a viral sensation.

Dobson also gained notice in music video appearances for rap artists Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign. Dobson was a close friend of Pop Smoke, who was also killed in a 2020 shooting in Los Angeles.

No arrests have been made yet in relation to the shooting.
