Rapper Lil Tay Confirms She Is Alive After A Hoax Instagram Post Announced Her Death On Her Account

Lil Tay confirmed that she in fact is alive after reports of her death have been circulating.

She released a statement where she denied that she was dead and wrote, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.”

News of her death started on August 9 after a post on Tay’s Instagram announced her death and it additionally stated that her brother had also died. The post read, “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.”

The fake statement continued to ask the public for privacy for the family. “During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation.” It ended by stating, “Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”

Fans suspected that this may not be true, as her father nor her former manager would confirm their deaths, and the police departments that media outlets contacted did not have any reports that declared her dead.

The statement explained that the news was not posted by Tay’s family as her account was hacked. “My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong.” She clarified that her real name is Tay Tian and not Claire Hope as everyone had been calling her.

Lil Tay first because famous when she was 9 years old after she shared her wealth on social media. She boasted about her influencer lifestyle and how she owned expensive cars through rapping.
