Queen Camilla reportedly warned King Charles III against seeing his son, Prince Harry, during his most recent visit to the U.K.

Harry arrived in London last weekend to attend the 2024 WellChild Awards, a charity he has been involved with for almost 20 years. This marked his first time back in England since he attended the funeral service for his late uncle last month.

According to the Daily Beast, Charles wanted to meet with his estranged son, but his counsel and wife discouraged the reunion. A source close to the queen told the outlet that they don’t want the King to ensure unnecessary stress before he visits Australia this month.

“She has been the principal voice urging Charles to slow down and take things easy,” the source said. “The last thing she wants him to do is get stressed out over a meeting with Harry.”

However, a source close to Charles told the outlet that the King wishes to “settle” his qualms with Harry for “personal reasons and to ease pressure on the monarchy itself.”

“The king has an instinctive impulse towards Christian reconciliation, and his cancer diagnosis has only sharpened that,” the source said.

The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from his family since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, left the U.K. and moved to the United States in 2020. In September, Prince William and Princess Kate offered Harry birthday wishes, a move that shocked many. William is said to be furious with Harry over his depiction of the family in his memoir, Spare.
