Proving Doubters Wrong, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 34, Shares Photos Of His Blissful Vacation With Wife Sam Taylor-Johnson, 57, In Maldives

In a post to Instagram on Tuesday, December 31, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson shared a photo of him and his director wife, Sam Taylor-Johnson, on their vacation in the Maldives.

The couple is staying at the Soneva Sushi resort, which has a starting price of $1,983 per night.

Johnson’s post’s cover image showed him and Sam sitting on a leaning tree trunk in the tropical setting with their arm around one another. The carousel of images also included snapshots of the picturesque sky over the water, Sam posed on a bike beside the water, Johnson riding a bike along a leafy trail, scuba diving, shirtless, and playing cards.

He captioned the post, “A little break in paradise.”

In her own post to Instagram, Sam shared photos of the couple accompanied the beautiful views, captioning the snaps, “This was the best way to end 2024. Faced a fear and learnt how to dive. Swam with some sharks and found Nemo.”

Sam, 57, and Johnson, 34, met and fell in love on the set of Sam’s 2009 director debut Nowhere Boy, starring Johnson. They were married in 2012 and share their daughters Wylda Rae, 14, and Romy Hero, 12. Sam also has two children, Angelica, 27, and Jessie, 18, with her ex-husband Jay Jopling.

In May, Sam complained about the public criticism of her and Johnson’s relationship, saying she “couldn’t fathom the fascination” people had with their 23-year age gap.

“People want to understand things when they can’t… They want to pick up art when they can’t fathom what a certain love story that doesn’t fit in a box is.”

However, Sam acknowledged that over the ten years she and Johnson have been together, criticism for their age difference has faded.

Best known for his role as the title character in Kick-Ass, Johnson has appeared in a variety of movies, including Avengers: Age of Ultron, Bullet Train and Kraven The Hunter. Sam has directed an extensive list of films, including Fifty Shades of Grey, Back to Black and Love You More.
