Princess Märtha Louise of Norway posted a sweet birthday tribute on Instagram for her fiancé, Shaman Durek.

She posted an adorable couple selfie and wrote, “Happy Birthday, my amazing fiancé. Our life has been a true adventure since we met.”

The 51-year-old royal continued in her caption, “Let us continue on our path together; growing, expanding, daring more. You inspire me every day to be the best version of myself.” She added, “I love you with all my heart and soul. Looking forward to many more trips around the sun with you, embracing love.”

Louise and Durek, who is a spiritual guide from Los Angeles, got engaged this past June. They have yet to announce their wedding date, but it could be just around the corner.

Durek, 48, celebrated their engagement on social media at the time. “She said YES!” he exclaimed on Instagram. “When you know you know. There is nothing better than having clarity as a man that the woman that stands in front of you is the one.”

Louise’s mother, Queen Sonja, is on board with the relationship now. She called Durek “a great guy” who is “very fun to be with” – but it sounds like she had her concerns at first.

“Americans have no idea what a kingdom is,” the Queen said, “so it’s no wonder… he thought he could do whatever he wanted without compromising us at all.”

Luckily, even though she and Durek “disagree on things,” they are still “happy with each other.”

Just last week, Louise pulled a classic “Meghan and Harry” and decided to step away from her royal duties altogether.

The Royal House of Norway explained her departure in a statement.

“Princess Märtha Louise wishes to differentiate more clearly between her own activities and her relationship to the Royal House of Norway,” they said. “The Princess has therefore decided, in consultation with His Majesty The King and other close family members, that she will not carry out official duties for the Royal House at the present time.”

Surely, Louise has more time now to enjoy her love story.
